This Compaq installs and runs 3.0-release just fine, using the
floppyB30.fs installer to get the scsi drivers.
The 2/23 snapshot hangs at the infamous trap of machines that are memory
challenged--running makedev.
I know the proposed solution--break into the shell before the installer
runs makedev and turn swap on.
Does this mean that the installer is now too big to run on 16 megs of ram?
Would the standard floppy30.fs fare any better? (Thinking I could add the
scsi disk later after the snapshot is in....)
dmesg from 3.0-release below...
Thanks,
Jeff Ross
