So Dan says that "compatibility" is critical and that things must be consistant,
but only with his software. What OpenBSD sets as standards do not matter and
when someone mounts /var as noexec we must consider that someone has required
us to
put executables there.
We must also consider that if someone were to tar up their /usr/local and bring
it
over to a friends house and extract /usr/local/src then they could be violating
the
terms of Dan's copyright waiver because it does not seem to provide for
distribution
of the non-archived source code. But that strays.
In the end the math professor, failing to win the argument with logic and sound
reason resorts to inflamatory language.
Since I would not wish anyone to assume that I were some kind of "play actor" as
Dan likes to use in his name calling, I am going to start removing DJBDNS and
qmail
from all of my customers machines as soon as I can. While his software may have
advantages I would not wish them to expose themself to a lawsuit as a result of
using tar, scp or ftp. I have enough of Dan's posts to convince them that I made
a mistake in installing it in the first place.

There is no doubt we need government in our lives. There is also no doubt
that we need salt in our diet. Watch out for too much of either one.
