So is there a clear need for all (very different) unices to converge
into one standard directory layout with policies for what to put where?
Even if there was, it would be hard
even bringing the bsds and the countless linux-distributions in line,
although several linuxes claim to be complying to a thing called FHS
(http://www.pathname.com/fhs/)

Why does he have to touch / to be happy? I don't get this? If DJB wants
to turn old unix inside out he better think about finding a chroot()ed
solution for his software, not living in fake-install ;-))

Besides, what would the good people at openpackages.org make out of a djb-built
qmail or daemontools package?
