your box doesn't proceed the received bytes in UART's FIFO when newer come,
so it loose those were in FIFO... i only saw such behaviour on my 486dx4-100
with 16450 (no FIFO at all). in OpenBSD at high speeds low water mark is
set to a half of FIFO buffer, so before it manages the bytes in FIFO,
there come more than 8 of newer ones...

what is the box's load? it seems that it's at least pentium and i don't
know why it can't manage received bytes in time... wondering much...
