life's so harsh :-)

Are you _certain_ that that's the case?
Do you know something we don't know?
Or is this just speculation based on the email transcript Theo got back?

I actually had doubts over whether Doug's account really got suspended as MTAs can probably be set up to selectively thusly reject email from certain senders. So I actually emailed Doug and asked -- but it appears his email account really had been switched off, at least for now (see below). (Of course it's probably also possible to set up an MTA to appear to reject messages like this while really delivering them, but somehow I don't think Adaptec are up to that.)

Doug,

Some posters on the misc@openbsd.org mailing list have claimed that you
got mailbombed.
Another poster has claimed that you got fired.

Is either the case?

I'm obviously aware that if either are true then this email might be an
exercise in futility -- however, if these rumours are untrue, then I'd
be grateful to hear them refuted.

Just in case:
Please be aware that no member of the OpenBSD community condones actual
mailbombing in any way. We know that we've been lobbying hard and that
that can be painful and can generate a lot of email as well. We
understand that this may be a tough process to go through and we
emphasize, but please understand that as people intent on staying true
to our principles we're at this point much less by choice than
you/Adaptec are.

Thanks and regards,
yours respectfully,
Jens Ropers
