Well, apparently lots of you already noted that OpenBSD 2.9 CDs have
been pre-orderable for a couple of weeks. They'll be coming in
sometime soon, and then shipping out to you.

Though I don't know, I think that orders are handled in the order they
are received.

Just in case some don't know, or if a reminder is needed: CD sales,
tshirt sales, and financial donations keep us going. The project has
a pretty favorable margin on sales, and then funnels that money into
buying things developers need (ie. things that we are unlikely to get
donated directly, like Apple powerpc machines).

Yes, some of the money goes to help pay my very cheap mortgage, but
hey, does it look like I have time to do anything else besides
OpenBSD, at the speed we've been moving, and if you guys know anyone
who's willing to handle doing two OpenBSD releases for, I dunno,
$35K/year, let me know, because I'd love to hire them!

So, there you guys now know how to ensure that we keep making
releases. ;-)

There is no 2.9 shirt yet; I think we will work on making one soon,
though. I think it also makes it easier for the people doing shipping
if the orders are simpler... in the past, I think that a variety of
pre-orders issues have made shipping more complicated. Not that I
know. I don't handle any of that -- much thanks to Austin & co for
taking care of all those details.

(as an aside, this was one of those releases that once again totally
wrecked my immune system because of stress and lack of sleep; I got a
really nasty cold again, but hey, each release more people participate
and our tech for making the release components gets better
better..... it's just that stress of accidentally shipping a bad
release CD, I suppose ;-)
